Homemade Febreeze!

Living with 2 dogs in my house I am very self conscious of my house smelling like dog!  I caught myself with no Febreeze! I looked for some cool substitutes and I made recipe #3 and I like it a lot. I love the smell of Downy fabric softener. I really like it  on my couch and chairs. Makes my house smell like fresh done laundry with out all hassel.

4 Homemade Febreeze Recipes

Basically the ingredients to make homemade Febreeze are a mix of water and fabric softener.
Directions:
  • Unless otherwise noted, place ingredients in a spray bottle and shake well to mix. Test a small unnoticeable area first before using to make sure no discoloration or damage occurs. Use as needed, shaking well each time before use.
#1
1 cup fabric softener
1 cup white vinegar
2 cups water

#2
2 cups water
1 cup fabric softener

#3
3 cups water
3 TBS fabric softener
3 TBS rubbing alcohol

#4
2 cups water (warm)
1/4 cup fabric softener
1 TBS baking soda

Thank you to tipnut for these febreeze recipes.

Saying Goodbye is so Hard!

My life has been so busy! Being a full time working mom, a wife and a coach/2nd mom to 12 high school dancers. Recently my life has taken some twist and turns, but I believe GOD puts things in our life to remind us he is still in control of everything in our lives!

August my family lost something very precious to us.. My 27 yr old nephew passed away unexpectedly. Chance Had a beautiful soul! He loved his family and his children. Heaven gained so much, but it's gain has left us sad and missing him each day!
This is not one of my favorite photo's of him cause he looks like some fugitive off TV. He really was a handsome young man.. He could sport any hair cut or long hair and still be so handsome.. his baby pics are really cute

See he really was a cute baby!!! this is one of my Favorite photo's!

Chance's life was up and down! He had an addiction that over came him. He knew that GOD was his security but he could not shed the hold that had a grip on him! Below is a link that describes how a person who becomes addicted to something eventually takes over his or her life! My family believes if one person can be saved or break the grips of their own addiction this is why Chance left us at such a young age was to help others.
http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/what-recovery/50484-letter-your-addiction.html

you will have to copy and paste into your browser for some reason I could not get to link. sorry! It's worth reading!

My prayer that no other family has to endure the heartache that my family has.. My sister (Chance's Mom) is the strongest woman I know, but losing your baby has really test her faith and strength!! My heart breaks I can't imagine hers! LUVS to my SISSY!

Early Bird Get's The Coupons!

I don't know what it is, BUT for some reason my eyes will open early on Sunday morning! I guess my brain knows it's coupon day and I have to get my papers asap! Lately as I drag myself in my jammies to the local mini mart, I notice that the papers are nearly gone and/or someone has stolen MY inserts out of my paper! How dare them!!! Also there is a sign that reads : "DO NOT TAKE MORE PAPERS THAN you purchase" It is really sad that people put their dollar in and take 2 or more papers! OK PEEPS that is called stealing! So stop it if you are doing!
Steps on how you should get your papers"

Step 1: Deposit YOUR money.

Step 2: Open door.

Step 3: Remove only 1 paper!!!!

Step 4: Shut the door!!!

Now if you want another paper repeat the above steps till desired amount of papers are achieved

I know I may be stepping on toes, but look the peeps who put those papers in those boxes have to pay for them. Please don't steal from those who trying to make a living too!

Now I will get off my soap box.... Lately instead of sitting for Hours and cutting my coupons. I have found this amazing little Christian based site that cuts coupons sells them for very cheap! So if I need 10 coupons of colgate toothpaste I just go there purchase them and voila! They mail them to me... Now you may think pay money for coupons, really. I am finding my time is more precious and I have been spending way tooooo much time cutting coupons and placing them in my binder. I buy three papers and get three coupons alike.. WeLL if I want 20 of one coupon I can purchase sometimes for less. They are already cut. LOVING IT!!!!

Check them out! It's awesome!

My recent purchase $4.00 off Gillette Fusion Pro Glide coupons. From The Coupon Clippers
>
Those pricey Pro fusion razors that are $9.99. I use a $4.00 Coupon. Walgreens gives me $5.00 back in rewards! CHA CHING .99 cent razor! THEY PAID me to take their razor!!!! Used that $5.00 reward on my next purchase! woo hooo!

I found this on my Favorite Blog Wild for Wags. It is a site dedicated to all Walgreens deals.

There is a National Catalina deal for Oscar Mayer Lunch-meat. Although Walgreens is not listed as being a participating store at Coupon Network, it’s printing the Register Reward! You can grab a great deal on lunchmeat!

The awesome thing is that the Oscar Mayer meat is 2/$5.00 use coupons on top of that and get some really cheap lunch meat!
I missed this deal cause I only bought 2. If I would have bought 3 I would have printed a RR.

Buy Oscar Mayer Lunch Meat thru 7/10
Get $4 RR WYB (5), $3 RR WYB (4), $2 RR WYB (3)

Here’s the best deal I see to get each pack of Oscar Mayer Deli Fresh Shaved Meat for just $1.25 each. That’s a great price and a nice way to spend some Register Rewards.

BUY
(4) Oscar Mayer Deli Fresh Shaved Meat 9oz 2/$5
Total = $10
(2) -$1/2 Oscar Mayer Deli Fresh Shaved Lunchmeats, any – 05-15-11 SS x7/10
Total = $8, Get Back $3 RR
= $1.25 EACH!

Thank you to Wild for Wags for this super cool DEAL!

Walgreens Haul 6/5/11

I took my dear friend to walgreens today for her 2nd time! And we both agree that couponing has now become a drug! Thank GOD it is legal! I can officially say that I have two really bad habits I drink way to much Pepsi and I coupon. I guess couponing would be considered a good habit..

Today my husband said as he handing me $50 "don't buy a bunch of stuff we don't need." Well it is very hard when you are getting stuff for basically free! Walgreens pays me to take their stuff!

Above is what $186.41 worth of stuff from Walgreens looks.. I paid $41.11 coupons and also used Register Rewards that Walgreens offers. Register rewards are like coupons but you use them like money to buy anything in Walgreens.. Walgreens is paying you to take there stuff!

Well the men in my house have no excuse they should not have beards or smell bad! Above Gillett items. The above items without coupons would have cost $44.11. With coupons it cost me (drumroll) $15.04 including tax.. BUT get this they gave me $15.00 in Register Rewards ( to spend on my next transaction! Cha Ching !!!! YES 4 cents!

Above transaction . This would have totaled $43.84. Using my register rewards and coupons cost me $2.42 including tax! The subtotal was .95 cents..Have to give the Govenor his money! My Fav purchase is my hubby's starbucks coffee(he so loves). I had a rain check from a few weeks ago it was $6.99 on sale. Regular price is about $10. With my $1.50 coupon it cost $5.49. Wow I was happy because this is a luxury for him!

Above Transaction 3.. This one cost me $24.45, but if I would have not used any coupons or rewards it would have cost me $98.46. The cool thing was the reach toothbrushes would have cost me over $5.00... THEY WERE FREE!!!.. So how can you pass something up when they are going to give it to you!!!

I know you are thinking why do you need so much stuff? Well When I find bargins like this I stock up on them when they are a good deal. Then when I need real things like food I can concetrate on food and not worry about having to spend grocery money on soap, detergent, toilet paper, and other daily needed items.. It is called a stockpile!!! I love being able to go to my stockpile and grab some shampoo or deo, and not worry about putting it on my grocery list! You should only have FOOD on a grocery list! That is why it is called grociers! lol

I know this seems complicated! and in a sense it is, but once you learn the system and put yourself in the frame of mind there are other places to shop besides Wal-mart... MY family was giving walmart a lot of our money, and it would make me angry . I prefer now to give it to walgreens because they want to keep me as a customer so they pay me to shop there. Yes Walmart has "low prices" and "roll backs" but with a bit of thought and clipping coupons you too can shop like this not to mention if you get more than you need you can donate...Right now we have a lot of people needing the above items because of the recent tornado s .. I will be doing this also!

Some of you have been amazed at how you can save with coupons! Well I admit I am still a newbie, and I learn something new everyday!
This article below is from one of my favorite blog site MONEY SAVING MOM

31 Days to a Better Grocery Budget: How to Maximize Your Savings With Coupons
by Crystal on May 19, 2010

Take Babysteps
I think it bears repeating: please take baby steps when you start couponing. Do not go buy 10 newspapers, get a big honkin’ coupon box, and spend 5 hours clipping coupons when you’ve never used coupons in your life. You’ll overwhelm yourself, take an enormous amount of time and probably end up exhausted and burnt out — before you’ve even saved a penny on your groceries!

Start with a few newspaper inserts and a small coupon organizer. Check out the deals at your local store (you can find weekly deals for almost all regional stores in the Store Deals section of our website). Pick a few of the best deals that you have coupons for and can use and work those into your grocery trip.

Once you’ve gotten accustomed to matching a few coupons with a few deals, take it step farther and start looking for more coupon sources and try planning a menu based upon what’s on sale at the store. Once you’re comfortable with that, start practicing the Buy Ahead Principle.

Learning things gradually will help you to stay sane, save money and time and really determine what works best for your own family.

Prioritize Your Bargain-Shopping Based Upon Your Family’s Needs
There are often many more savings opportunities than time and it’s easy to lose track of this when you get caught up in the excitement of saving! Time is money, too, so always remember that it’s okay to not hit every deal.

In fact, I encourage you to cherry pick: focus on the best deals that week for items you need. Meaning, if you already have 10 tubes of toothpaste but are almost out of shampoo, prioritize shampoo deals over toothpaste deals. If you have extra time and extra wiggle room in your grocery budget, than you can definitely stock up on other great deals, but focus on feeding your family first.

Walgreens Haul 5/29/11

Ok so my couponing is becoming a bit out of hand! I try so hard to see how much I can get for next to nothing... My friend was giving me a hard time because I have been to Walgreens twice this week, BUT I have gotten over $200 worth of stuff ( that my family needs) for around $63.00. INSANE huh?

I know I am not your extreme coupon diva like on TLC, but hey I was once a mom who just dreaded going to the store to buy what my family needed (food is a big deal around here).

So my above purchase without coupons or register rewards from Walgreens would have been $64.00 ( tax not included, because tax in Arkansas is high and really makes me angry). My grand total for all the above items was $16.68. I know sounds crazy but so true!!

Domino sugar on sale $2.19 each I had two 40 cent coupons

Poise pads were $5.99 I had $1 off Wags coupon and $1 off Manufacture Coupon

2 Dry Idea
2 Right Guard ALL FREE! Walgreens was running a buy one get one free
on these deo s and I had two B1G1 free coupons so CHA CHING they are mine for nothing! They rang up that way! My fav cashier had two put back for me before I got there ( she love's me) and told me of the amazing deal!

4 bottles of AXE body Wash and one deo (my son's FAV) 1 deo was 4.49.$5.49 for each wash , BUT I had buy 1 get 1 free coupons . I was only charged for the deo and 1 wash . Cha ching $9.98.. My friend has all girls, she gave me her buy three AXE walgreen coupon which printed me out a $3.00 Register Reward. These four babies cost me $.6.98. Not to mention each bottle of wash came with a trial size bottle of wash on back.

4 pkgs Oscar meyer wienners
which I had a rain check on cause last week they were by one at $2.99 get one free, of course I had coupons which brought them down to .99 each .

2 pkgs of Oscar meyer deli meats
in store sale price 2/5.00 plus I had a $1 off coupon.

When I used all my coupons and my $3.RR from my AXE transaction plus I had two $3 RR from FRIDAY. brought this transaction down to $6.98 .. INSANE!! Just this transaction should have been way over $43.00.

If you are not doing this, you need to start! My grocery bill is shrinking and we are getting to buy name brand items not generic! And I am spending my money elsewhere NOT WALMART! I get so tired of giving them my money! MY HUBBY is SMILING because I am saving him money. AND he gets to Fish more, too!

ONLINE Shopping ! Make money back on your purchases!!! LOVE IT!

I love looking on line for fun gifts. I guess you could say I am an online shopping addict!

My latest find is Rue La La , click here and sign up! Its FREE and Fun. It has a little bit of everything and sometimes they have awesome little sales!

Another awesome one is Ebates click here to sign up! What I love about this one is you get money back when you click on the stores you like and when you make a purchase they add money back to your Ebates account it depends on what  you buy but those nickels and dimes add up..

For instance I buy a lot through Ebay and Avon.. When I win an auction through Ebay or purchase It gives me money back that goes into my Ebates account. When it adds up you can request a check.. Another one I love to do is I buy from AVON online. I buy from a friends website. When I make a purchase from her site I not only help  her but I  make money back too! On my own purchase!!! Way too FUN!

Make sure before you go to make a purchase go to Ebates (after you register) before you go to a store and shop so you will get your credit, click on the store you want to shop !! There are a lot! Then in a couple days they will add a percentage of your purchase back to your account!!

Coupon Queen!

WOW! What A Week!!!

THANK GOD IT IS FRIDAY!  Can I get a witness?

Sorry I have not been on in a while! My life seems a bit crazy right now, but I believe GOD sends us through a storm at time to remind us this life is not easy but somehow somewhere Sunshine and roses always appear...

My kids make me crazy, but I love them so much! Why is it that when are kids are hurt emotionally we turn into bulldogs? Sometimes other kids can be so hurtful but when an adult hurts my kids feeling I want to rip their heads off! lol Well I guess you can see where my week ended! Things are fine now but someone out there has my teeth marks on their butt where I chewed for a while!  lol Yes I did ask GOD to give me strength and guidance! That is why I remained calm! ANY how life goes on . and GOD is GOOD all the TIME!

Coupon Newbie lol!

I have recently become addicted to the new show Extreme Couponing!  Where simple peeps save money by using coupons!!! WOW!! like the other nite 's episode they spend like 300 dollars and after coupons it cost them like 13.dollars. Super WOW!

Ok so the other day with coupons in hand and my sales add from other store and my 16 yr old son in tow...I set out for the adventure.... I WAS GOING SAVE MONEY!!! for example
This newbie had a coupon for .75 for birds eye frozen vegi's but I had to buy three... They were priced over a dollar each BUT big BUT I price match them from the other local store at .78. SO ( drum roll please) I paid .78 cents each for two and received the third for .03 cents!!!! ( applause) thank you very much!

If you knew me I am not real good with money or numbers (actually I hate number, think about it numbers hurt sometimes. example our age, total amount of bill's, etc)...

My son fussed at me for holding up the line price comparing and using my coupon's not to mention the lil old lady who checked me out complained I was making her work to hard just to save ME money!! HOw dare I do that to her!!! Not to mention taking money from Sam Walton family (WAL MART)! I took $4.60 from the walton's! MY son complained saying "MOM you did all that just to save $4.00? " Well to my favorite 1st born child!!! That $4.00 is the one gallon of milk you yourself drink each week or The gallon of gas you need in your vehicle !!!

Again I am a coupon newbie! If you have in Awesome things to contribute to help me and other's survive in this sucky economy plz pass them on here!!!

This is the link wher you can watch EXTREME COUPONING clips!!!!

Making Soap!

There has been a lot of buzz going around lately about people making their own laundry detergent.
I will be the first to admit that this was silly idea to me! I truely love the smell of my clothes washed in GAIN and of course dried in GAIN fabric sheets as well!

But hey lets all admit times are truely getting rough! I hate it !!! So I broke down went to the dugger.com website ...... you know the family here in Arkansas with the 100 kids (( no really they have 19 or is it 20 or is she pregnant with number 20? oh heck who cares!
The Dugger's from the T.V show
19 Kids and Counting

The Dugger's have some really good recipe's and the recipe for the Homemade laundry detergent is on there. You can make dry or liquid. I made 5 gallons of liquid which cost me $4.00 and then you dilute that so $2.00 in 10 gallons of laundry soap! Ok so it does not smell like GAIN , but our clothes are clean and that is what counts.

This is the recipes, but please check out their site that have some other awesome recipe's!
Food recipe's

Homemade Liquid Laundry Soap- Front or top load machine- best value
4  Cups - hot tap water
1  Fels-Naptha soap bar
1 Cup - Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda*
½ Cup Borax
- Grate bar of soap and add to saucepan with water. Stir continually over medium-low heat until soap dissolves and is melted.
-Fill a 5 gallon bucket half full of hot tap water. Add melted soap, washing soda and Borax. Stir well until all powder is dissolved. Fill bucket to top with more hot water. Stir, cover and let sit overnight to thicken.
-Stir and fill a used, clean, laundry soap dispenser half full with soap and then fill rest of way with water. Shake before each use. (will gel)
-Optional: You can add 10-15 drops of essential oil per 2 gallons. Add once soap has cooled. Ideas: lavender, rosemary, tea tree oil.
-Yield: Liquid soap recipe makes 10 gallons.
-Top Load Machine- 5/8 Cup per load (Approx. 180 loads)
-Front Load Machines- ¼ Cup per load (Approx. 640 loads)
*Arm & Hammer "Super Washing Soda" - in some stores or may be purchased online here (at Meijer.com). Baking Soda will not work, nor will Arm & Hammer Detergent - It must be sodium carbonate!!

Powdered Laundry Detergent - Top load machine
1   Fels-Naptha soap bar
1  Cup - Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda*
½  Cup Borax
-Grate soap or break into pieces and process in a food processor until powdered. Mix all ingredients. For light load, use 1 Tablespoon. For heavy or heavily soiled load, use 2 Tablespoons. Yields: 3 Cups detergent. (Approx. 40 loads)
*Arm & Hammer "Super Washing Soda" - in some stores or may be purchased online here (at Meijer.com). Baking Soda will not work, nor will Arm & Hammer Detergent - It must be sodium carbonate!!

TIPS FOR LAUNDRY SOAP: We use Fels-Naptha  bar soap in the homemade soap recipes, but you can use Ivory, Sunlight, Kirk's Hardwater Castile or Zote bars. Don't use heavily perfumed soaps. We buy Fels-Naptha by the case from our local grocer or online. Washing Soda and Borax can often be found on the laundry or cleaning aisle. Recipe cost approx. $2 per batch.

I also have made Dishwasher detergent too... I will post tomorrow

My Mother found a lot of the ingrediants at the local hardware store.

MY next thing I want to make is the Fabric softner....

I want to start making other things too  I will post as I find them

Milk Bone Underwear!

I was born in the mid 60's. I don't really remember that time in my life but I do remember some things in my life that made an impact.... Like for instance... my sister ( who is 8 yrs older than me)... She loved Janice Joplin to this day I can hear her singing "Me and Bobby McGee" ... and she still Loves Janice Joplin.. I guess that would be my memory of the 70's...... And I know I have a lot more..... Like fav  TV shows.... and great memories of my parents.... The 80's well that was my time... I loved everything about that time..... the music ,,, the styles,, the super big hair and of course the makeup!!!  My dream was to be able to sit and talk with Boy George and discuss makeup tips and how he got his eyebrows drawn on just perfect...

I guess you are still curious about the title!!! Well one of my fav T V shows of that time was Cheers!!!! I loved when Norm when come in an the whole bar would say "NORM" and as he quickly walked up to the bar he always had a remark!!!! The best one of all time which I still use to this day!!!

"It's a Dog eat Dog world and I am wearing Milk bone underwear!"

After His Remark that summed up his day, He sat down at the bar where his beer was waiting and he drowned the sorrows of the day.   Good times!
